"We always have a great time staying here. We did have a problem with the tv in the bedroom not working. It was no big deal and the owner communicated and even sent us a little care package for the inconvenience. The only bad thing is there are little burs in the grass that hurt our dog’s paws all around this property. Not a fault of the property you should just be aware staying in Montenegro bay community. The view and. Cleanliness of the unit were great. The bed in the master bedroom about killed both of our backs but this is also personal preference. Great stay overall."

"I recently stayed at a vacation rental from Mad Men Vacation rental in Ocean City, and I can’t recommend Rebecca enough! The booking process was incredibly smooth, and they were very accommodating to our needs for our 4 fur babies, which was a huge plus. Upon arrival, we found the house clean and absolutely adorable inside. The decor and ambiance made our stay even more enjoyable. The location was perfect, with plenty of activities and attractions nearby. One of my favorite moments was stepping out onto the back deck and enjoying the beautiful view of the water—truly a peaceful escape! The team at Mad Men Vacations was fantastic, always kind, helpful, and quick to respond to any questions I had. Overall, we had an amazing time with family and made wonderful memories. I highly recommend staying with them if you're looking for a delightful vacation experience!"

"Honest review here. The place was smaller than expected, at just 1200 sq. ft. There were 6 of us, 4 of us being adults. The bedrooms (except the master) do not have return vents, so closing the doors for privacy meant trading off air flow on the hot days. The decor is very nice, but the living room area only sat 4 comfortably and 5 if we squeezed. On the rainy day of our trip, I sat and watched the movie from a kitchen chair and my neck was hurting afterwards. The front door moulding came off as my 11 year old opened the door and fell on me. She is of average strength for her age. The moulding was dangling since we had arrived, and I guess she drew the short straw when opening it. The dock was nice, and so was the deck, though the stairs on the deck felt like they were leaning a bit and not all equal spacing apart. There was duct tape on the poles on the deck, I am uncertain if that was residual from previous decorations or if it was to hold the pole together. It did not appear to be a load bearing pole anyway (since it was off-center), so I was not overly concerned. The chairs on the deck were uncomfortable, except the lounge chair. Unfortunately, there was only one of them, so only one of us could sit comfortably at a time. My daughters loved sitting in the bubble chair, but my one daughter re-aggrevated a recent neck injury by sitting in it (since it is not in the least bit ergonomic). What was expected to be a relaxing vacation started out with missed expectations and that caused conflict that took us a few days to resolve. After we got through all of that, our family prevailed. We stayed the entire week. But the bedroom with the bunk beds was fairly cramped, and one of my daughters was crying for the first 2 nights. I traded places with her and she slept with my wife and I slept on the pull-out twin bed while my other daughter slept on the middle bed in the same room. We made it work. Like I said, it took a few days to get all of this worked out, but we did make it work and the kids were the first to embrace the positives and the adults second. The house is so close to the beach that we walked there. That was awesome!! This is a beach house, after all. And it served that purpose exceptionally well! But we're not really beach people, so we only went there one day. We went to the boardwalk 2 other days and although it's a 20 minute drive to the boardwalk without traffic, we found that at the times we wanted to go, it took 30 to 45 minutes to get to the area where the rides and amusements were. Instead of frequent trips to the boardwalk, we embraced the many miniature golf places nearby. We went to both the Island one that's around the corner, and the indoor one a few blocks away. Both were great, but the Island one was a better experience because it was a lot less crowded, and the course is brand new. The building even had that new smell to it still. The four stars rating I gave is because of the mismatch in way the house was marketed (setting our expectations) and the reality of it. The countertops appear to be painted wood, not even Formica. For people who love the beach and who have 4 or less in their party, this house is great. Honestly, after the adjustment period and the family conflict from the expectation gap, the nuanced disappointments faded into the background. Hopefully my review can help people set their expectations accordingly and then there won't be a need for any such challenges and they can just enjoy their trip with full knowledge of what they signed up for. The positives - the house was clean, the appliances worked, the door code worked perfectly for us, the TV was awesome (kids watched a lot of it on that rainy day), the beach was super close by, the grocery store is under a mile away too, we had no problems with uninvited guests, the neighborhood is safe and beautiful, there's a nearby park that my wife and I walked to one night that had a concert in it, there are so many restaurants and mini golf places to visit, and the owner is very nice."
